Tight or Loose
In seven-card stud, it is very essential to know whether how you should play that is, whether you should play tight or you should play loose.
Play solid. It sounds like strength. It has power and strength. It feels like a force into itself. It is some kind of enthusiasm, overconfidence, concentration.
You should play solid. A solid player is a skillful player who sometimes plays tight and sometimes plays loose. He can be conservative or aggressive, depending on the situation. The solid player wanders the entire poker range from conservative to selectively aggressive play. He knows different strategies and uses according it to the situation.

Just play solid. Not many players do in both general poker and poker tournaments. The reason is that most of the players are reluctant to adapt from our basic life-styles. People don't make accurate decision to play conservatively or to play aggressively. They tend to play differently as a consequence of their basic natures. Conservative players are conservative people. Aggressive players are aggressive people. It is difficult – but it is not impossible. You have to do it.
If you play consistently tight and you bet when you are holding the nuts, why should your rival ever call one of your bets? You need to convince your rival that your rival has a chance of beating you. If you have a reputation of being consistently conservative, you can make a successful bluffing. You can, but you won't. Conservative players are not generally bluffers.
If you play consistently loose and you could be betting with anything, your rival will be eager to call your bets while he is holding marginal hands. There would be some cases where you will be holding strong hand and then you can beat your rival easily. But this will not happen always. You might lose most of the money.
Changing Gears
You need an accurate decision to change your style of play. It will take some time to change. Proceed slowly. You don't have to place any nervous reaction. Change your style comfortably. Play your game with your normal style.
However you are not going to change your style completely. You want to develop the ability to change occasionally – be able to comfortably change gears and make your rivals guessing.
For the conservative player, becoming a little loose will make the game appealing – and increase your winning probability. For the aggressive player, slowing down the game will give a chance of what you are doing – and increase your winning probability.
